Title: Five Petals Falling
Series: Nobuta wo Produce
Spoilers/warnings: Set during the end of episode four. Hints at Shuuji/Nobuta/Akira and all permutations therein, with some Shuuji/Mariko. I don’t know it’s a subtext thing.
Wordcount: 5,921
Summary: What if. AU diverging at the 11/4 confession. Shuuji is forced to make a choice and deal with the consequences.
Author’s notes: For [ profile] annnimeee since she has to put up with me on a daily basis. Sorry it's so late, I’m a bad roommate.

And everyday, it's changed since then )
gaisce: (z-zeeeeeeeen)
Resolution said write more, not write better. Baby steps!

Title: Principles of Relativity and Exotic Matters
Series: Community
Spoilers/warnings: Spoilers up to episode 2x10, “Mixology Certification.” Slashy undertones if you like to read that into Troy and Abed's interaction.
Wordcount: 1,248
Summary: Troy and Abed talk on the way home after the bar.

'My friend, one thing you have to learn. There is always time for beer.' - Ka D'argo )
gaisce: (Even Beasts can be human)
Welp, I kind of stopped posting there for a while. Oops.

Title: Who Knows You Best
Series: Rapunzel also known as Tangled but whatever Disney, whatever!
Spoilers/warnings: Post-series. Deals with emotional abuse.
Wordcount: 1,394
Summary: A mirror shard and shorn hair are enough to finally free Rapunzel from her life in the tower, but not all ties are as easily cut.

A passive-aggressive mother figure as a Disney villain? SCARIEST THING )
gaisce: (Kicking you while down)
Title: Let Go in Small Doses
Series: Avatar: the Last Airbender
Spoilers/warnings: Ty Lee/Azula, vague spoilers for the finale
Wordcount: 505
Summary: Written to Regina Spektor's "Ode to Divorce" for the Ladyfest Appreciation Meme. 'You're eating something minty. And you're making that face that I like. And you're going in, in for the kill, kill. For the killer kiss...'

So break me to small parts, let go in small doses )
gaisce: (Please remember me--fondly)
Title: Such Shaping Fantasies
Series: Princess Tutu
Spoilers/warnings: Set right after season one. Slight Kraehe/Tutu subtext.
Wordcount: 2,500
Summary: A restless mind makes for foretelling dreams.

Lovers and madmen have such seething brains, such shaping fantasies that apprehend more than cool reason ever comprehends )
gaisce: (Stay with me)
Suffering from a death flu is a good enough excuse as any to look through my early writings. This is (thankfully) the only story that seemed to survive on the internet. And wow, sixteen year old self:
-you're adorably pretentious
-and redundant
-mostly pretentious because I can totally see you using that awkward Latin there
-...the sense of humor remains just as immature now as ever
I'm just going to leave this here the next time I need to laugh at myself and my creative endeavors.

Title: Evolution
Series: The Adventures of Sinbad
Spoilers/warnings: set in the magical alternate second season that had Maeve and Mustapha
Wordcount: 20,700 (jeez, I wish writing came this easily now)
Summary: Maeve and Firouz have to step into the realms of science and magic in order to stop a madman who plans on destroying them both.

Here for posterity (and for shame, a little bit) )
gaisce: (z-zeeeeeeeen)
Title: Time to Face the Music
Series: Buffy: the Vampire Slayer/Runaways/Young Justice
Spoilers/warnings: Warped AU of the Buffy-verse where things diverged with the Pride’s kids and Young Justice crashing the dimension. So Buffy didn’t die, Bart ended up being the Key, Anya terrifies Chase after infidelity talks, and Kon is still super “mature.”
Wordcount: 4,023
Summary: There are no small parts, only small actors and people from alternate dimensions who sometimes go off-stage.
Author’s note: For [ profile] poor_choices, who bought me in the [ profile] help_haiti auction like the cheap hooker I am. Just keep telling yourself it was for a good cause.

We'll sing a happy song. And you can sing along. )
gaisce: (Pleased as punching)
Another unspoken resolution I have this year is to stop being an over-analytical whiner and just write. Which primarily focuses on how I have no pacing for longer stories to save my life and thus don't attempt them. TIMELY EXPOSITION IS MY NEMESIS. I have probably written this chapter over twenty times, posted and deleted it twice, and will likely never finish the story. But whatever, I am posting it now, considering it done, and moving on without constantly re-editing the damn thing this is a lie, I bet I will wake up and fix a dozen things looking at it again.

Title: Flint and Spark (1/?)
Series: Avatar: The Last Airbender
Spoilers/Warnings: Set after the finale, so all canon events are fair game.
Wordcount: 8,783
Summary: Five years later a tenuous balance is on the brink of collapse, ready to send the nations back to war. Toph can stop the conspiracy, but with her only help being the manipulative exile, Princess Azula, her enemies may not be the biggest problem.
Author's notes: If you're brave enough to read this mess, concrit would also be adored.

Send us a blindfold, send us a blade. Tell the survivors help is on the way. )
gaisce: (Responsibility is overrated)
I thought Dr. Facilier was an interesting villain but his motivation was really unspecific, especially since he was a foil to the princess with the most concrete goals. I guess it makes sense though. A charlatan is all flash and image, but no substance. much like my writing

Title: Go Down Easy
Series: The Princess and the Frog
Spoilers/warnings: Mentions voodoo but since Disney isn’t 100% accurate (gasp! shock!) and my research is conflicting/spotty I've mostly tried not to sound terribly ignorant, although if there are any mistakes I would appreciate correction.
Wordcount: 1,260
Summary: Pre-series. The Shadowman before he was even a man, but a child. And he too was taught that hard work and dreams would make his life better.

Any time tomorrow a part of me will die and a new one will be born )
gaisce: (Smooth like a smooth thing)
Attempt #8 at getting out of writer's block. sob so pretentious Everyone can clearly tell my character biases from this selection. Also spoilers for the finale.

Sokka. Ritual. )

Toph. Colorblind. )

Ty Lee. Thursday's Child. )

Azula. Your Right Arm. )

Mai. Nor Iron Bars a Cage. )

Azula/Ty Lee. Eye of the Beholder. )

Aang/Katara. Without Doubt. )
gaisce: (z-zeeeeeeeen)
Title: Three Thieves and a Penguin
Series: Leverage
Spoilers/warnings: None.
Wordcount: 292
Summary: For Skye’s birthday! And it’s exactly what the title says. Sorry it's short and two hours late.

No animals were harmed in the making of this story. However, Eliot's dignity may have taken a blow. )
gaisce: (Can you say "iconic"?)
I've been trying to write seriously for two weeks now and failing miserably. So I decided to say screw it and go with something dumb. [ profile] chash, this isn't what you asked for but you're getting it anyway.

Title: A Fine, Fine Line
Series: Leverage/DC comics
Spoilers/warnings: Too dumb for real plot. Technically set in the second season for Leverage. DC has nothing it wouldn't retcon away if they could.
Wordcount: 1,470
Summary: Hardison learns some things even hackers shouldn’t try to get around.

The internet is serious business )
gaisce: (Failure to communicate)
Title: With a Little Seasoning
Series: Kung Fu Panda
Spoilers/warnings: ...does vague Viper/Po teasing count as a warning?
Wordcount: 2,510
Summary: Po doesn’t know how to live up to expectations, especially when they can change.
Author’s Note: I claim mental amnesty for this idea from finals. Since Kung Fu Panda was the only thing I was watching for a lot of it.

Everybody was kung fu fighting (except for this story) )
gaisce: (I am turning in revolution)
I continue to be ashamed of my writing in this fandom. Contrite and ashamed.

Title: An Act Too Often Neglected
Series: Avatar: the Last Airbender
Spoilers/warnings: Post-series Fire Nation royalty family issues
Wordcount: 1,323
Day/Theme: from [ profile] 31_days March 4th—you become responsible, forever, for what you have tamed
Summary: When Zuko became Fire Lord he inherited more than just the throne.

Apologies to Antoine de Saint Exupéry for everything )
gaisce: (Gert/Chase: Not prince charming)
I haven't written anything for [ profile] chash in forever. Fixing that.

Title: Corner of 5th and Washington
Series: Runaways
Spoilers/warning: Nebulous short time after season one but before they find the new lair in season two
Wordcount: 1,130
Summary: Chase isn't romantic, Gert hates chivalry. It's not a date.

I don't understand why Cupid was chosen to represent Valentine's Day. When I think about romance, the last thing on my mind is a short, chubby toddler coming at me with a weapon. )
gaisce: (Contemplating the mysteries of life)
I've finally crawled out of the backlog of all my obligations (okay just some) but the perfect response would be to give myself more work. Everyone I flaked out on before has full permission to smack me here. Yes, even if I'm still working on their other stuff...

The first TEN people to comment in this post get to request a drabble of any pairing/character of their choosing from me. In return, they have to post this in their journal, regardless of their ability level. If you absolutely can't write, I don't see why you wouldn't be able to offer drawings or icons or something instead.

1. [ profile] silverprism - Static Shock: Virgil and Richie
2. [ profile] wonderseal - AtLA/Mulan: Azula and Mulan
3. [ profile] synergic - Princess Tutu: Mytho/Ahiru(ish)
4. [ profile] starsofnite - DC/AtLA: Impulse and Toph
5. [ profile] calophi - TricK: Ueda/Naoko
6. [ profile] lady_ganesh - DC comics: Impulse and Brainy
7. [ profile] etherealprey - Adventures of Sinbad: Maeve/Sinbad
8. [ profile] skyebanshee - Merlin: Merlin/Arthur ...sort of?
9. [ profile] timmesque - Princess Tutu: Mytho/Rue
10. Congratulatory short story of stupid for me for finishing this one for once
gaisce: (こんなに近くで)
Title: Chopsticks Etude
Series: Nodame Cantabile
Warning/spoilers: Spoilers for the Paris special, set between the Christmas argument and right before Nodame’s first recital.
Wordcount: 2,805
Summary: Nodame and Chiaki play scales on something larger than a grand piano.
Author’s notes: For [ profile] mikomichan because of lots of things like icons and that request from long ago but also subtle incentive since she decided not to throw me out into the wild Canadian wilderness when I visited.

Heart and soul, I've begged to be adored. Lost control and tumbled overboard... )
gaisce: (Bright new day)
There are a lot of things I could say about yesterday as a California voter. How I voted, and it doesn't seem like enough when there are neighbors who are convinced in the inferiority of certain families and marriages for being different. Yet I still have hope, because I know and believe in the virtue of these families. That these people are capable of just as much love as anyone else.

Which means my idea of counteracting fear and bigotry is writing super fluffy domestic PWP slash stories. And maybe it's just my way of counteracting something so serious with something trivial when you look at it, but if it helps reaffirm things then it does what it's meant to do. Remind us why this is important. So if anyone has a terrible domestic prompt they want me to write I'd be happy to try.

Now onto some Static Shock domestic fic for Prism )
gaisce: (Experiencing Creative Difficulties)
Stolen from people on my f-list: "When you see this, post an excerpt from as many random works-in-progress as you can find lying around. Who knows? Maybe inspiration will burst forth and do something, um, inspiration-y."

[Gokusen] Shin and why he went to Africa )

[TricK] Ueda conducts an experiment with some unwilling subjects )

[Nodame Cantabile] I swear I'll finish this for Komi soon )

[Enchanted/Princess Tutu] ...I swear I'll finish this for Chash some day or she can beat me senseless. )

[Avatar] Ty Lee post-series dealing with things )

[Avatar] Post-series Azula and Toph having aaaaawkward trust issues )

Clearly I need to work on not falling behind in my schoolwork if only to complete some writing prompts for my own sanity and so the people I need to write for don't hunt me down for flaking on them.
