More Utena drabbles
Second set of twenty five. Fear my redundancy and stupid commentary! Fear the midterms!
“Slips and Crumbs” Wakaba and Tatsuya ♥. And an excuse to make dirty fortune cookie jokes.
“Winter” I really like this one. Done for the Amos lyric challenge with the interesting dynamic of Wakaba, Utena and Anthy.
"Air" Miki and angst. Don't really go together but Ruka's POV made it work and I thought it was interesting.
"Simple and Clean" Ruka-insight story for the childhood challenge. I think this one was my poorest. I'm sorry Ruka!
“Bassoku” Touga and Saionji kendo fighting, with sincerely welcome help on the terms. Omgtheirloveissophallic.
"A Lion in Spring" Tsuwabuki growing up. Cathartic too, considering I can write tantrums very well, given my familiarity...
“TaDa Suu” Experimenting with the minor trio of Yamada, Suzuki, and Tanaka. It got really "stream of consciousness" on me when I wasn't looking. But then the title was crazy symbolic so I'm sure it just spiraled down from there.
“Tetralogies” More on the decline of my Juri/Utena writing.
“Googol” Mikage + physics = crazy shit.
“Nobody Before Somebody” Doppleganger challenge. Mainly because I got the line "But I was pretty before...right?" and it tore at me.
"For Caesar’s I Am" Angry, bitter Nanami with an undercurrent of Utena/Nanami because I was in a weird mood.
“The Sound and the Fury” More Mikage and master manipulator Akio. All human endevours are but sound and fury, signifying nothing.
“Technicality” Bitter humor over elections at the time. Ruka and Touga decide to play politics with poor Saionji's mind.
Five things that never happened Includes five pure drabbles: “Better Late and Never,” “Selfish,” “Half-Burnt Offering,” “Measuring Adolescence,” and “Unwieldy”
"Making an Omelet" Another MTO. Nanami running for office. This one obviously had to end up as humor, because it's Nanami and ChuChu and I liked writing it. Also my only story recced.
"Merry". Miki and Juri at Christmas. Bittersweet and whimsical, or at least I thought it so.
"Toy Soldiers" Gender switching challenge. Kanae as herself but as a boy, because she'd probably be unlucky enough to skip Akio and go straight to Anthy for manipulation.
“Sleeping Machines” An MTO order for car!Utena. I couldn't do crack, but I did try to add to the mythology and the thought of movie!Mikage is just too tempting to resist.
"Passing in the Night" 'Nother Juri/Utena drabble. Except not really because it's a what-if, but still...
“Loose Ends” Mikage/Tatsuya, yes, I know. I like the crack pairing! Trying to compare outsiders/innocent's perspective to the whole orchestrated mess.
"Giri no Neesan" A companion to "TaDa Suu" with Aiko, Yuuko and Keiko. At first was supposed to define Aiko and Yuuko more, but then it just congealed and it's not so bad.
